Register for summer camps by calling the Box Office at 270.444.6828! Every student will need a Consent Form filled out before attending camp; form is found at the bottom of this page. Scholarships are available!! Simply fill out the financial aid application and bring it to the Box Office at 132 Market House Square.

It's Electrifying! - A Science and Drama camp!
Musical theatre meets the science lab in this creative camp! Students will work on the wacky musical comedy IT’S ELECTRIFYING while exploring scientific principals related to the show via experiments guided by science teacher Tim Franklin! The play includes historical figures such as Ben Franklin and Thomas Edison as they guide students through such topics as how electricity was "discovered," how it travels, different forms of production of electricity, and conduction - all in a comedic, fun and engaging way! Instructors: Tim Franklin and April Cochran. Min/Max: 12/24

Disney's Cinderella KIDS - Musical performance camp!
Based on the classic animated film, Disney's CINDERELLA will charm its way into your heart and remind audiences that dreams really can come true. Poor Cinderella is endlessly mistreated by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters, and denied a chance to go to the royal ball. With fun characters like the spirited mice, pompous Duke, magical Fairy Godmother and adventurous Prince - this stage adaptation is certain to be an unforgettable musical experience! Campers will also experiment with show production elements like props, lighting, theatre games and stage makeup. Instructors: April Cochran and Dale Julian. Min/Max: 20/36

Pirate Adventures! - Preschool PlayShop
Ahoy, maties! Jump aboard our pirate ship on a merry adventure through the seven seas! Learn the pirate code, talk with mermaids and parrots and search for buried treasure! This hour-long session will include stories, crafts and lots of fun! Instructor: Ashlee Soldo. Min/Max: 6/16.

Walking Undead - A stage makeup/special FX workshop!
Design and create zombie makeup, complete with gaping wounds, blood and gore! Then participate in a Zombie flash mob event! Creepy fun! Participants must be free of allergies to latex, and come to class wearing clothing which can be stained or ruined. Instructor: Marsha Cash. Min/Max: 5/8

Unicorns, Dragons, & Magical Creatures - Preschool PlayShop
Magic is all around in this hour-long session for preschool ages! Converse with magical creatures, fight dragons, and sing songs with the mermaids! Kids will hear stories, make crafts and learn the value of bravery and friendship! Instructor: Ashlee Soldo. Min/Max: 6/16

Disney's Aladdin KIDS - Musical performance camp!
Welcome to Agrabah and the Academy Award-winning adventure of the street rat who became a prince! When the street urchin, Aladdin, vies for the attention of the beautiful princess, Jasmine, he uses a genie's magic power to become a prince in order to marry her. Iago, Jafar, the Genie, and more are here in Disney’s Aladdin KIDS, a musical adventure filled with magic & mayhem! Clubhouse at the Market House!
Based on MHT’s PlayTime interactive performance series, students come to the Clubhouse and create a secret handshake, learn the word of the day, and then act out a story with costumes and props from the magic Clubhouse trunk! There’s a new story every day! Parents are invited to the last 5 minutes of each class to watch the students act out the day’s story. Instructor: April Cochran. Min/Max: 6/16

Bruises, Cuts, and Burns - Stage Makeup Workshop
This one day workshop will explore the gorier side of theatre...theatre makeup, that is! Learn how to create realistic looking bruises, cuts and burns. Impress your friends - psyche out strangers! Harry Potter Camp!
Come join the magic at MHT this summer - our popular Hogwarts camp is back! Hogwarts students will be assigned a House by the Sorting Hat, make a magic wand, show off their Quidditch techniques, and hone their skills through classes such as Potions, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Divination, and more! The week ends with a graduation ceremony to include families in the fun. Register early as these limited spaces can fill quickly! Participants need to bring a snack and a sack lunch. Jedi Training Camp
The Force is strong with you! Join our Jedi Master to train and go from Padawan to Jedi. Trainees will take basic stage combat, meditation, train on an obstacle course and learn from the wisdom of our Jedi Master. Students will be provided with robes and lightsabers…everything a Jedi needs! Instructors: Brian Johnson, Ashlee Soldo. Min/Max: 12/20

A Pirate's Tale - Performance Camp (non-musical)
This very silly pirate play features such characters as Captain Goodfellow (who is far too nice to be a pirate), Dirty Roberta (a very well-dressed pirate), Short Stack (the tallest pirate) Hannah the Huge (the smallest pirate), One Eyed Jane (pirate with great vision) and Ivan the Wicked (a very nice pirate). This band of hapless pirates set off in a candy-themed ship to find buried treasure! Campers will also play zany skill-building (and fun!) theatre games each day! Instructor: April Cochran. For any camp with a fee of $50 or less, MHT will require payment in full at the time of registration. For any camp with a fee of $50 or more, MHT will accept a $50 non-refundable deposit, per camp, at the time of registration. If a deposit is placed, the remaining balance must be paid in full no later than three weeks before the start of the camp. Online registrations must be paid in full. Refunds will be issued for registrations cancelled up to 3 weeks before the first day of camp under the following terms: For camps paid in full at the time of registration, the camp fee will be refunded minus a $25 cancellation fee. For registrations reserved with a partial-payment deposit, the deposit will be forfeited. No refunds will be issued for cancellations within 3 weeks of the first day of camp.

Summer Camp Teaching Staff
April Cochran is Education Director for Market House Theatre and has over 40 years of directing, teaching and performance experience for theatres throughout the midwest. She was the recipient of AACT’s Distinguished Merit Award in 2011.
Ashlee Soldo is Education Assistant for MHT. She received her undergraduate degree in Musical Theatre from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and she has performed, taught, choreographed and directed in both the United States and Scotland.
Brian Johnson teaches at UT Martin and has been in over 14 MHT productions.
Dale Julian is the music teacher at Clark Elementary School. He has served as music director for several Family Series and summer camp productions at MHT.
Emily Yocum Black has performed extensively in musicals, operas, chamber and orchestral works for over 15 years.
Tim Franklin is a science teacher at Paducah Middle School. He offers a unique approach to teaching science by utilizing fine arts in his classroom instruction.
